This book is a really good motivational story, to never give up and to always stay strong, even through tough times. This is also a good learning opportunity, how you can become an engineer, starting from scratch. This also shows how you can go from a simple farm boy, from a poor family, to a famous person known all over the world.
In this book, Willam is a boy who wants to go to school and learn a lot of things. He was a curious boy as well. Willam, from a simple radio powered by a bike, wants to make electricity for his house, using a windmill that he wants to build. He learns this from a library, woh all these parts work, etc. However, in William’s teen years, a huge famine strikes, and his family is forced to live on a few bites per day. For a year. However, William never gives up, and eventually, his windmill is finished. He gradually brings improvements to it, and soon, his entire house is powered by electricity. He gets noticed by media channels, and soon, he is taken to a TED conference, and engineers improve his windmill further.
All in all, I think this is a great book to read for kids 8 and up, and I highly, highly recommend it. Also, 5 out of 5 stars.
