If you have read all the Artemis Fowl books before this, then you probably know in this book, Opal Koboi, the nefarious pixie tries to take over the world.  For the 4th time.  Why would you know this?  Well, in every even numbered book in this series, the 2nd, the 4th, the 6th and the 8th,  Opal tries to take over the world.  And this book is no different.

Artemis has just recovered from the Atlantis Complex, when a phone call comes that Opal Koboi is about to be murdered.  Well, one of the Opal Koboi’s.  Spoiler Alert, a younger version of Opal comes into the present in the 6th book.  Well anyways, if the younger version of Opal dies, then everything that Opal contributed to, or made, was going to explode, so if that happened, then just about half the world would explode.  So, while the LEP tried to release the present time version of Opal, which was the only way that the other Opal wouldn’t get killed, they could only put present Opal into a nuclear reactor so that she wouldn’t explode and cause fission underground.  And so, half the world exploded, and Holly, Artemis and Butler attempted to defeat Opal, for the 4th time.  Oh, and also 2 people die in the end, but one is resurrected and brought back, into the living.

This can’t be any less than 5 stars, so what am I going to rate it?  Well, 5 stars.  This book is absolutely amazing, super interesting, and also makes for a good almost horror type of book.
