I really love The Missing Prince because the author, John Flanagan made it so interesting.  The theme of this book is about trying to rescue the prince of Gallica, Giles.  With most books, they start out slowly, gradually building up, but with The Missing Prince, it starts out swinging right at the start.  This and many, many more things make this book so addictive.  Another thing is that this isn’t one of your books where you read it once, then just toss it away, with this book, you want to read it over and over again.

This book starts out when the King of Gallica comes to Castle Araluen to seek aid from the king to help rescue his son, Prince Giles.  At the same time, in Redmont, Will and his apprentice, Maddie, catch a band of robbers.  When Will and Maddie are summoned to Castle Araluen, they are informed that they are tasked with trying to rescue Prince Giles.  The 2 rangers take on the disguise as a pair of jongleurs, so they could work under cover and gain information.  On the way to the castle, they encounter quite a few setbacks that hold them back, but their disguise as a pair of jongleurs works, and they continue on.

I just really love all the books that John Flanagan writes, especially this one.  They are all so interesting, so enjoyable that you want to keep reading them.  I would, with no hesitation recommend this book to people 9 and older, and I easily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.  As said before, this isn’t a book where you have to read for quite a bit to get engaged, with this book, you are engaged right from the start.
